Five 9s Digital Advises On The Sale Of 20 MW BitCoin Mining Facility

Five 9s Digital provided advisory services on behalf of its client in the sale of a 20 MW powered shell data center to be utilized at a BitCoin mining facility located in Murphy, North Carolina. The facility totals 253,000 SF on 74 acres offering substantial future expansion capacity to over 50 MWs. Western North Carolina continues to attract data center and related mission critical investment activity due to the low power cost, stable climate offering year round free cooling, and attractive incentives available for high-load power consumers and technology related investment.

The facility will operate as a BitCoin and related CryptoCurrency mining operation by a national company and adds to the substantial list of mission critical operations in North Carolina including Apple, Google, Facebook, Bed Bath & Beyond, American Express, and Boeing among a host of others. Bitcoin miner hosting and bitcoin colocation will be available in Q1 2018.
