Digital Realty Trust Adding 700,000 SF to 350 E. Cermak in Chicago

Digital Realty Trust just announced a huge addition to its downtown Chicago data center holdings. Digital Realty owns and operates the premiere downtown Chicago data center at 350 E. Cermak Carrier Hotel Data Center. This new addition will be located just west at 330 E. Cermak and include 698,000 new square feet in 12 stories. The two facilities will be connected underground via fiber conduits. 350 E. Cermak is essentially fully-occupied with over 100 megawatts of power serving the facility.

Digital Realty is woring to pre-lease a portion of the new space with the intent to commmence development in 2017. Chicago has experienced tremendous absorption of data center space over the past couple of years and continues to see heavy activity in both the downtown and suburban Chicago markets.
